INTRODUCTION TO MY MUSIC VIDEO PROJECT



INTRODUCTION

Throughout the course doing A-level Media Studies, My coursework is mainly based on creating an authentic and attractive R and B music video that presents different codes of music and several music video conventions mostly based on the R and B genre. I will be using a song called "Into You" which is a single made by "Sydney Renae". I chose this song as it is one of my all time favourite and I will therefore remake the song itself, the band persona and an existing music video's. Sydney Renae was established in the year 2015 as she had a song cover in partnership with Bryson tiller which is specifically called "don't". She is now very popular as she makes astounding songs and albums that millions of fans are addicted to. So this would suggest that there will be many fan theories that would correlate different meaning and therefore I could create this music video in many astonishing ways linking with the codes of genre and most specially the artist.

Moreover, The song is genuinely all about romance and affection or in other words Sydney Renae is singing about her boyfriend and how she is so into him. She explains the characteristics of her boyfriend that made her having an "unconditional love" and she also believes that love is the maximum highest law that can conquer anything. This perhaps suggests a jubilant, concupiscent and intimacy mood and theme of the music video. Due to the fact that this song was released in the year 2016 and has more than 69 million views in YouTube and it is also in the UK's official song chart's so this suggest how this song achieved a massive main stream success. This music video is classified as R and B or a love/romantic song. This made me capture an idea to make the first story-telling mixed with lip sync music video of this song. as it has only a recording video in the media but not an actual original music video. So I would be the first one applying more media conventions to create this music video. This explains how my project is very authentic as it can be identified as the original music video so I must ensure to make it look very attractive and high quality music video that meet my audience needs so that it would enable more audience attracted and appealed my music video allowing more success and achievement to my overall project.
